Written exam

The written exam at the B2 level has an identical structure for all languages taught at our Centre - which means that each exam test contains the same number and the same format of tasks regardless of the language. The purpose of the written exam is to test reading comprehension skills.

Each exam test is made up of five tasks. The first three tasks test general comprehension (understanding the main idea of the text and the underlying thoughts), detailed comprehension (at the level of individual words and structures) and selective comprehension (the ability to search the text for specific information and to grasp the gist). These three tasks are typical working-with-text exercises. In contrast, the following two tasks are gap-fill exercises, where grammatical and lexical skills are tested.

The written exam at the B2 level is taken by every undergraduate student after completing four semesters of classes in a foreign language of their choice. The language chosen in the fourth semester of the course determines the language of the final exam.
